Olga Sabadin-Ukrainian artist, 2023, D-90 cm, oil painting, canvas Closing my eyes, I see pictures from the past, especially from my childhood. I remember walking with my mother in the steppes, picking morning field flowers, listening to the birds, watching village life and helping my great-grandmother in the garden and in the field. And in the evening we went to look at the lake, see the sunset and meet the stars and the moon. We singed my favorite children's songs. I always waited for the falling stars and was happy when I could make a wish. I especially remember the night life of bugs and butterflies flying to the light, hedgehogs were searching for the food and the strange sounds of night birds. All these memories now i put in my paintings. They build my art and ideas appear on white canvases like wonderful stories creating new magical world. I am happy and thankful to my family, they taught me to love, observe and respect nature, notice simple beauty in everything.
